A BLESSING CALLED MOTHER

WHEN THE BABY AWAKENS AT MIDNIGHT,
WITH AN ILLNESS OR STOMACH THAT'S SORE,
IT IS MOTHER THAT GOES TO HER LOVED ONE,
NO MATTER HOW TRYING THE CHORE.

WHEN THE YOUNG CHILD HAS RUN INTO PROBLEMS,
HE KNOWS MOTHER WILL ALWAYS CARE.
IF THE ANSWER IS NOT IN HER WISDON,
HE KNOWS SHE CAN LEAD HIM IN PRAYER.

THE YOUNG MUST GO IN THE SERVICE,
HIS COUNTRY TO HELP TO KEEP FREE.
BUT MOTHER IS ALWAYS BESIDE HIM,
IN SPRIT ON PRAYERFULLY BENDED KNEE.

AT HOME, IN HOSPITAL, OR PRISON,
OE WHERE EVER YOU MAY HAPPEN TO ROAM,
THANKS "GOD" FOR A BLESSING CALLED "MOTHER",
AND THE MEMORIES OF LOVE IN THE HOME.

A MOTHER IS MAN'S GREATEST BLESSING,
FROM BIRTH TILL THE LORD CALLS HER HOME.
SHE'LL ALWAYS REMEMBER HER CHILDREN,
NO MATTER HOW FAR THEY MAY ROAM.

IF YOUR MOTHER IS HERE OR IN HEAVEN,
USE THIS DAY THAT HAS BEEN SET ASIDE,
TO REMEMBER THE LOVE THAT IS UNFAILING,
AND THE LOYALTY A MOTHER WON'T HIDE.

THUR LAUGHTER AND SMILES WHEN WE'RE HAPPY,
THRU TEARS AND HEARTACHES WE BEAR,,
REMEMBER THAT BLESSING CALLED "MOTHER",
EVERYTIME THAT YOU WHISPER A PRAYER.
